Amy Smart is a former American actor and model. Her modeling career started in Italy in Italy, where she was raised and born in California. Her acting career began in 1996 when she starred in the TV film Her Costly Affair. Her fight to secure a part in Starship Troopers, a film with mainly minor roles was a gruelling battle. It was difficult for her to transition into acting since models were not considered as an actor, so they generally were offered small roles. Amy persevered, and ultimately she was offered bigger roles in films Varsity Blues and The 70s. Then she stepped into main roles for the 2005 romantic comedy Just Friends which also starred Ryan Reynolds. It was a huge commercial success, and Amy has finally achieved the fame she had been seeking for more than 10 years. There were several major films within the Crank trilogy alongside Jason Statham.
