April Ross

April Ross has won more than one Olympic gold medal. She is one of the few female players of beach volleyball to have done so. Alix klineman, who is competing for the first time in Tokyo's Olympics and will attempt to win her third Olympic medal. But more than that, Ross hopes to win her first Olympic gold. At 39, it could be her final chance to accomplish this. Still confident but she is not sure. Ross said on NBC Boston that if they play their best, or even a good game her team will be able to win the gold medal. In addition, I'll try some luck. Ross was born August 22, 1982, in Costa Mesa California. She resided there along with her entire family. Apart from participating in a variety of sport, she also attended Newport Harbor High School. As a prep-athlete she was also a participant in indoor track and volleyball. However she was clearly superior to the rest when it came to the second sport. When she played in her high school volleyball career in her university biography she played as a middle-blocker, outside-hitter and setter. To honor her achievements, she received the Gatorade Award for National Player 1999. Additionally, in 2000, she was recognized as the Orange County Athlete of the Year for volleyball. Ross and Klineman have been performing their roles in the year 2017. But, Ross played a significant role on the beach volleyball circuit before joining the duo. She actually won numerous major events with two different partners, one of which is a volleyball icon. Ross teamed up along with Jennifer Kessy from 2007-2013, and was also Klineman's coach. Kessy's teammate Ross, who took home the title of world champion alongside Kessy in 2009 was also significant on the international stage. They were awarded a silver medal during the 2012 Olympic Games held in London. The legendary Misty Maytreanor team along with Kerri Jennings won the gold. The fate of the matter was that Ross was Walsh Jennings' new partner after May-Treanor's retirement. They both went on to take home the bronze beach volleyball medal at Rio Olympics 2016. They were joined by Walsh Jennings. Ross played for the Trojans of USC in her college prior to becoming a professional. The time she spent at USC was awe-inspiring. In 2000 she was named Pac-10 Freshman and NCAA Freshman Of The Year and an All-American. The Trojans had the chance to get to the Final Four with her help. In her sophomore season she suffered a devastating personal loss and still earned the distinction of being an All-American. Over the course of her two final years with the Trojans they helped achieve consecutive championships. In 2003-04, Ross was named the top female volleyball player at a collegiate level in the US according to The Honda Sports Award. Ross had been an international studies major at USC. Margie Ross, Ross' mother, never had the chance to watch her daughter become a beach volleyball superstar. When Ross was a sophomore in USC her mother died of breast cancer. She still holds her mother dear. Also, Margie continues to be an motivation for her at the beach as well as in everyday life.
