Dolly Parton, who was born in Locust Ridge Tenn. on the 19th of January. 19. 1946, into a humble family of 12 children eventually included, discovered early that she could escape the hardships of her life by using a imaginative mind. Prior to learning how to read or write, Dolly Parton was creating her own songs. When she was 8, she got her first electric guitar and started singing at the Knoxville Tenn Radio Station. That same year, she recorded her debut album on Gold Band Records an independent small-scale label. Even though she became a local star while in high school, her goals were bigger. When she graduated from high school in 1964, she moved straight to Nashville. Her first charting hits with Monument Records included Dumb Blonde and Something Fishy both in 1967. Porter Wagoner began looking for female singers to join his syndicated television program at approximately the exact as the time. Parton accepted the job in 1967 and signed with RCA Records in 1968 and was a part of in the Grand Ole Opry in 1969. Parton quit the Wagoner's band in 1974 after her own songs like Joshua Coat of Many Colors & Jolene beat out the collaborations.
